A NEW LOOK

EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS

PRESENTATION

The Hôtel Donadéï de Campredon is a majestic 18th century residence, partly protected as a Historic Monument since 1979.

Built along the current quai Frédéric Mistral, for Charles-Joseph Donadéï, from a family of landowners originally from Italy and present in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue since the 15th century, the building presents a facade on the rue du Docteur Tallet, one on the quai Frédéric Mistral and two others on the garden. The Hotel Donadéï de Campredon displays a beautiful architecture on three levels. The elegant fountain at the bottom of the garden is attributed to Jean-Ange Brun, older brother of Esprit-Joseph Brun, with whom he sometimes worked, in particular for the hospital in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Since 1984, the Hôtel Donadéï de Campredon has hosted numerous exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. It was in 2010 that the hotel became CAMPREDON centre d'art.

Today, the monument is the subject of a restoration program which presents some architectural disorders and some of which must be taken into account quickly to ensure the accessibility of the place: the entrance gate to the courtyard and the staircase interior.

On the occasion of the 39th edition of the European Heritage Days, organized in partnership with the Heritage Department of the City of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and the local associationTrace of Poet, enjoy the time of a weekend, to take a new look at this emblematic and essential place through various free events.

Exhibition “Laurent Delaire, These whites that I dig”

It is with great virtuosity of gesture, a crazy, elaborate, patient technique, which mixes the softness of the caress with the roughness of the friction, that Laurent Delaire offers us moments of life: those which give reality a more intense, a melodic vibration, a magnified light.

Ancient Japanese poetry around the theme"How to translate amorous dialogues, the example of the Sômonka extracted from the Man'yôshû"

3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

The Man'yôshû is the first anthology of Waka, Japanese poetry, and dates from around 760. The Sômonka is made up of two Tankas who respond to each other in a loving dialogue. Very codified, like the Tanka and the Haïku, the subjectivity of the feeling of love melts into the collective imagination. How to translate the singularity of a work, the meaning of the poem as such, its poetry, into a language, French, with different resources?

Laurent Delaire, These blanks that I dig

10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Built in three chapters, the exhibition presents paintings, drawings and installations.

In drawings that often depict intimate interiors, the artist interferes with the usual codes of perspective by taking parts of the image or fragmenting them.

On his monochrome paintings, some of which cite the Dutch Golden Age, he proceeds by erasing the medium in order to gradually reveal the initial design as well as the white background of the support which pictorially translates the light. There comes an epiphany (a manifestation) where images often marked by a meditative or spiritual dimension emerge.

HERITAGE NEEDS YOU!

Since 1984, the Hotel Donadéï de Campredon has been offering contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events. Today, the building, partly protected as a Historic Monument since 1979, needs to be restored and to carry out the work, we need you.

The renovation of the interior staircase and the large gate overlooking the courtyard will restore its luster and durability to the building while providing optimal access security.

Taking part in the restoration of the Hotel Donadéï de Campredon means participating in the influence of culture and heritage throughout the territory.
